Job search
Find jobs nearby: make your search more focused
Find nearby jobs by combining activity and location, comparing hours and preparing individual applications with a reusable profile.

A suitable job needs more than an appealing title. The commute, hours, responsibilities and requirements determine whether it fits everyday life. Start with two things: the activity you want and the location where you want to work.
“Hairdresser jobs Vienna” or “part-time jobs Graz” are more focused examples than “looking for a job”. These are search examples, not claims about the number of such vacancies currently listed on Jobvelio.
Search by place and activity
Enter a place and add your occupation or desired activity. Search neighbouring towns separately when needed. The current place search matches the stated workplace; it does not calculate a radius. Consider a journey you can manage regularly: public transport, travel time and shift start times may matter more than kilometres alone.
Searching nearby does not require permanent location access. Enter your intended workplace yourself and change it whenever needed.
Consider related job titles
Employers do not always use the same name for similar work. Retail work may be advertised as sales; office support may appear under administrative assistance. Compare the actual responsibilities. A different title may suit your skills, while a familiar title can cover very different duties. Try specific skills as additional search terms.
Compare part-time, full-time and additional work
Check the actual weekly hours and how they are distributed. Part-time can mean a few fixed days or shorter daily shifts. An additional job may still conflict with a main occupation.
The terms used in Austria, Germany and Switzerland do not automatically describe the same legal conditions. Read the actual advertisement. Compare salaries using the stated period, hours and currency.
Changing careers: check the real requirements
A career change does not mean there are no prerequisites. Some employers offer training; others expect existing skills. Read the information on qualifications, induction, languages and hours carefully.
Explain what your previous experience contributes to the new work. A specific example is more informative than a general statement that you are motivated.
Understand home working and remote roles
Distinguish occasional home working, a hybrid arrangement and genuinely location-independent work. A remote offer may still be restricted to particular countries of residence or employment.
Check attendance days and fixed hours. An English-language description does not mean every person can be employed regardless of location or language skills.
Create a profile and reuse your CV
Save basic details and your current private CV in Jobvelio. Review the information before each application. Reuse saves entry time, but each application should still explain your interest in that particular role. A few concrete sentences can show you have read the responsibilities.
Choose a CV appropriate to the role. Updating the central profile later does not rewrite an application already sent.
Apply online with a clear recipient and preview
An internal application shows which company receives your information. Review the message and CV before sending them. Vacancies currently published directly on Jobvelio use the internal application route. Following future vacancies does not submit an application.
German and English vacancy content must preserve the actual requirements, including any stated German proficiency.
Follow new suitable vacancies
Save a sufficiently specific search rather than entering the same details repeatedly. Combining activity, place and desired hours is more useful than a completely open search. Pause or unsubscribe from alerts when needed. Save a new search for different criteria.
If there are no suitable results, relax one filter at a time. This helps identify whether the location, hours or job title is too restrictive.
Use labour-market trends as orientation
The country reports explain areas where the reviewed data indicates demand or recruitment difficulties. They can suggest search directions, but do not replace checking a specific vacancy. Region, qualifications and personal circumstances still matter.
